Aluminum Foam

Aluminum Foam is made of pure aluminum or aluminum alloy and added with additives. After foaming process, it has both metal and bubble characteristics. It has small density, high absorption shock resistance, high temperature resistance, strong fire resistance, corrosion resistance, noise reduction, low thermal conductivity, high electromagnetic shielding, strong weather resistance, filtration capacity, easy processing, easy installation, high forming accuracy , can be surface coating.

Feature:
Lightweight: 0.1-0.4 times the density of metallic aluminum;
High specific stiffness: its flexural rigidity is 1.5 times that of steel;
High damping performance and impact energy absorption rate: The damping performance is 5-10 times that of metallic aluminum. When foamed aluminum with a porosity of 84% undergoes 50% modification, it can absorb energy of 2.5 MJ/cm3 or more.
Good acoustical function:
1. Sound insulation performance (closed-cell): When the sound wave frequency is between 800 and 4000HZ, the sound insulation coefficient of closed-cell aluminum foam is more than 0.9.
2. sound absorption performance: sound wave frequency between 125 --- 4000HZ, the sound absorption coefficient of the through-hole foam aluminum up to 0.8, the average absorption coefficient of octave over 0.4.
Excellent electromagnetic shielding performance:
When the electromagnetic wave frequency is between 2.6-18 GHz, the electromagnetic shielding capacity of aluminum foam can reach 60-90dB.
Good thermal properties:
The porosity of the closed-cell aluminum foam with a porosity of 80-90% is 0.3-1 W/m#8226;k, which is equivalent to marble. Through-hole aluminum foam has good heat dissipation under forced convection conditions because its pores communicate with each other.

Application:
Aluminum foam can be used for noise control of urban light rails, elevated highways, underground tunnels, mechanical equipment, and improvements in acoustic rooms, multi-purpose halls, and other indoor sound effects. Sound-absorbing aluminum foam is glued onto concrete or steel structures and placed on both sides of viaducts and light rails as large-scale sound-absorbing walls, which can reduce urban traffic noise. The sound-insulated aluminum foam can be used for noise isolation in the factory's machine room, machinery and equipment, and outdoor construction sites, and solves many limitations of the currently widely used sound-absorbing materials such as glass wool and asbestos.
